About Us

Flemington offers all the local services necessary and more. The eateries are all fantastic and you could eat your way around the world between Racecourse Road & Pin Oak Crescent and all to a very high standard. There are three hotels if you want to have a meal, a late drink and two of them offer evening entertainment. Some of the restaurants have built reputations outside the local suburb and are a magnet for new visitors to experience the strip.

There are many easy ways to get to Flemington. It is only 4km from the CBD and the 57 tram will leave you right in the heart of the shopping strip. The Craigieburn line will have you sipping a coffee in one of the many cafes within 15 minutes of leaving Flinders Street station; simply exit at Newmarket Station and you’re into the heart of the strip.

If you love to cycle there are many bicycle tracks to avail of. Take the family for a day out. Using Docklands stadium as a landmark, ride along the shared path that runs along the waterfront, Follow the path which runs alongside Footscray Rd until you reach the Moonee Ponds Creek.

The Moonee Ponds Creek will be on your left as you ride along the good quality concrete path built by City Link. The underpasses will take you under Dynan Rd Arden St and Macaulay Rd. Eventually you will reach Flemington Rd and the ramp to Flemington Bridge station will be on your right.

Apart from the cafes and eateries there is beautiful parks and architecture to view. Barry Humphries declared in 2005 that his favourite building in Melbourne was the Flemington Post Office, on Wellington Street and went on to say:

“I think one of the most interesting streets in Melbourne is Racecourse Road, Kensington [sic]. Ever been there? Isn’t it incredible? African restaurants! I’ve discovered Racecourse Road, Kensington and I’m a big fan”.

We are only a hop skip and a short gallop from the world famous Flemington Racetrack and a stone’s throw from there is the Royal Melbourne show grounds.

Make a promise with yourself to visit us one of these days; you won’t be disappointed.
