Flemington offers all the local services necessary and more. The eateries are all fantastic and you could eat your way around the world between Racecourse Road & Pin Oak Crescent and all to a very high standard. There are three hotels if you want to have a meal, a late drink and two of them offer evening entertainment. Some of the restaurants have built reputations outside the local suburb and are a magnet for new visitors to experience the strip.
There are many easy ways to get to Flemington. It is only 4km from the CBD and the 57 tram will leave you right in the heart of the shopping strip. The Craigieburn line will have you sipping a coffee in one of the many cafes within 15 minutes of leaving Flinders Street station; simply exit at Newmarket Station and you’re into the heart of the strip.
If you love to cycle there are many bicycle tracks to avail of. Take the family for a day out. Using Docklands stadium as a landmark, ride along the shared path that runs along the waterfront, Follow the path which runs alongside Footscray Rd until you reach the Moonee Ponds Creek.
